2 Seabees Missing After Kayaking

Coast Guard and Navy rescuers were searching Oct. 19 for 2 Seabees last seem Oct. 17 kayaking off San Nicolas Island, Calif. The sailors kayaks were found around 6P.M. Oct. 18, tied together and found floating about 35 miles south east of the island, Coast Guard Lt. J. G. Andrew Munoz said. Builder 2nd Class Christopher Victor And and Equipment Operator 2nd Class Justin Johnson were reported missing by two friends who went kayaking with them around the island, said Teri Reid, a spokeswoman for Naval Base Ventura County. The men both from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 in Gulfport, Miss. had been stationed at San Nicolas Island for two weeks on a construction project, Reid Said.
