Corpsman Dies In Motorcycle Crash

The Marine Corps on Oct. 16 identified the service member who earlier died in a motorcycle crash north of San Diego as Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Ismael Rubiolopez. Rubiolopez, 36 of Johnstown, Colo. was a field medical technician with 1 Marine Expeditionary Forces Headquarters Group at Camp Pendleton, Calif. where he was assigned to the Training Experimentation Group. He was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle when it ran into a Cadillac sport utility vehicle Oct. 13, according to the San Diego County medical examiner's office. The accident happened in Pauma Valley, about 50 miles north of San Diego. Rubiolopez enlisted in the Navy in 2002, according to Camp Pendleton.
